Why drive through, and drive in car washes are bad for your vehicle.

Drive in/up car washes are bad for your car.
The chemicals used at a car wash are purchased for their low price, not their quality. These chemicals are created for the purpose of getting the car cleaned, and out of the car wash as soon as possible. Before a wash it's important to know when the car was last detailed, how much oxidation is on it, or how thin or thick the clear coat is. General purpose cleaners, combined with car wash machines do not know what your vehicle needs. This means that instead of giving your car the cleaning and protection it needs, it's getting the "car wash special of the week". Drive in/up car washes will leave your ride completely exposed to the elements, cutting the life of the paint and other sufaces in half! Do you really believe that a chemical safe for your paint, can just magically remove all dirt from your vehicle without scrubbing? A "touchless car wash" is also known for using exreme water pressure to remove dirt, which strips all surfaces of any protectant. After defacing your car, they will throw on a quick wax solution that only protects the paint for 15 minutes in the sun...you do the math.
This is why so many cars have paint falure, but get their car washed every week.
Drying the vehicle is a problem that is often overlooked. No matter what kind of drive in or drive up car wash you go to, there is an issue with how they dry the car. Some places use only air movers to dry the vehicle. This will not ensure that all the water is removed from the vehicle. With water still on the car, it will get dirty by the time you get home. Other places use towels to remove excess water left by the air movers. Due to high cost, car washes cannot afford to use microfiber towels to dry cars. The shop towels that they use cause streaks and "spider webbing" that are regularly seen on paint finishes.
Don't mess with the rest, call the best!

Is your vehicle's leather clean and protected?
by WaterShed Staff on 01/14/12
The leather in your car takes a beating. Imagine sitting in the sun for 8 hours with no sunscreen. This is what is happening to your vehicles leather every day while your at work. If not properly cleaned and protected, leather will crack, change color, and eventually rip. There are ways to prevent this from happening. When cleaning leather, the natural oils needed to preserve it are removed. To give it back the oils it needs, leather conditioner is a must. A proper cleaning and conditioning of your vehicle's leather at least every six months is ideal. This will ensure that the leather stays clean and protected. You may not think that your leather needs to be cleaned or conditioned, but this picture might show you otherwise.
